Tal has a deep commitment to pro bono work, and has represented clients in various areas, including wrongful convictions and civil rights. Tal recently represented a wrongfully convicted person and obtained the first ever Certificate of Innocence awarded in Peoria County, Illinois. Tal received the Northern District of Illinois Excellence in Pro Bono Award in 2016.
